Donations

The Portland Australian Football Club is a registered 501c3 nonprofit with the goal of promoting the growth of Australian rules football. We have men’s and women’s teams which represent Portland in the United States Australian Football League, and hold several local competitions throughout the year.

We were founded in 2003 and over the past 14 seasons have worked to build an inclusive and welcoming environment for anyone interested in the sport. Today we have around 70 male and female players, American and Australian, and a much larger community of family, friends, and Australian expats that participate in our events. Our membership has more than doubled in size over the past 3 years.

Your support as a donor has tangible benefits for our ability to grow as a club. Each year we face expenses including field rentals, equipment costs such as footballs and jerseys, travel expenses, producing promotional and recruiting materials, and more. We’re grateful for your support.

WE ARE A 501(c)(3) NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION
2014 was a great year administratively as the club was approved by the IRS to operate as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. As a result of this designation we are now able to provide donors with an official tax receipt for cash donations. Donors now have the opportunity to include cash donation as a deduction on their tax return by filing form 1040 and itemizing the deduction on Schedule A. This is a great way to help the club and potentially lower your tax liability.
