The Portland Australian Football Club got its start in 2003 with the establishment of the men's team. Originally called the Portland Power after founding club members acquired a set of jerseys from the Port Adelaide Power of the AFL, the team officially changed its name to the Steelheads in 2011.

The men have competed at Nationals since 2010. They were crowned Division 3 National Champions back to back in 2016 and 2017.

As of the end of March 2022, the Steelheads are back at it after a two-season pandemic hiatus. New players are always welcomed and encouraged to come out to trainings and see what the team is all about. No experience or prior sporting background necessary. Email recruiting@portlandfooty.com or swing by a training if you're interested in joining!

Led by Coach Tyson Oakley, the men train every Sunday from 3-5 pm at Clinton City Park, with the exception of weekends we hold Metro League matches. During our Metro League season, we hold co-ed Metro League games on select Sundays during the spring and summer. We also hold Co-Ed Skills & Conditioning Trainings every Tuesday at 6:30 pm at Clinton City Park. Check our calendar to keep up to date with our current schedule.
